November 07 Republican congressional recruit: ‘Enemy is infiltrating our military’Republican congressional recruit: ‘Enemy is infiltrating our military’
Raw Story One of the Republicans’ most favored congressional candidates — a former commander at Fort Hood, Texas — said Friday that the “enemy” had infiltrated the US military after a Muslim Army psychiatrist allegedly massacred at least 13 at the Texas military base. According to the Hill, the comments were made by GOP candidate Allen West.
The National Republican Congressional Committee in October selected West as one of 32 new members of its “Young Guns” program designed to promote challengers and open-seat candidates in the 2010 midterm elections. West formerly served in Iraq and Afghanistan and was the 2008 Republican nominee to unseat Rep. Ron Klein (D-Fla.) in the state’s 22nd district. Added The Huffington Post:
Ukraine's government in a panic over possible virus mutationMartial Law Declared In Ukraine Over Mystery Epidemic
Arrest of objectors ordered as President says “We must change the entire system of government in Ukraine” Steve Watson Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko has all but declared martial law in the country as he announced yesterday that the National Security and Defense Council will become the supreme ruling authority in the wake of a mystery epidemic sweeping the country. Yushchenko has made high ranking health ministers members of the NSDC, a government body consisting of the president himself, the chairman of parliament, the prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko (pictured), the head of the Security Service of Ukraine and other high ranking ministers. Yushchenko told reporters Wednesday night that “the non-fulfillment of its decisions will be prosecuted,” adding “We need to change the system. We need to change the whole system of the state power organization in Ukraine. We have no time for remonstrance no time for waiting”. The President reiterated his statements in an official address to the Ukrainian people yesterday, in which he states “Failure to comply with [NSDC] orders will immediately result in application to the law enforcement authorities.” “I instruct the Government and the Ministry of Health to immediately start preventive and promotional work in areas where there is no epidemic, targeting primarily the special risk groups,“ the address reads. The address also announced orders for the arrest of public health officials who have allowed public gatherings to continue and failed to ban the movement of people, calling it “a display of criminal irresponsibility”. “I have addressed the Prosecutor General of Ukraine with the request to institute criminal charges of negligence committed by first of all the Chief Sanitary Inspector, Kyiv City Sanitarian and the officials, who, despite having daily information on the epidemic situation in the country, neglected it in pursuit of political dividends and ambition,“ the statement reads. A further report from Interfax Ukrainia Agency says the Ukrainian Health Minister Wasilij Kniazevicz has asked the country’s top prosecutor to open criminal proceedings against those who are opposed to the implementation of the mass flu vaccination campaign. Yushchenko’s address also issued a ban on all flu medicines not recognized by the Ukrainian government or by the World Health Organization: “I demand the Government to immediately cancel the existing order of registration of medical supplies, including vaccines.” the address reads. The address also implores Ukrainian citizens who have shunned the officially approved vaccinations to reconsider: “It is generally known that the only way to prevent any infection is vaccination,“ the address reads, “As the President I ask you, dear fellow citizens, to reconsider your attitude to vaccination and do it if necessary, but only, I emphasize it – only after consultation with the doctor.” ” People are dying. The epidemic is killing doctors. This is absolutely unprecedented and inconceivable in the XXI century.” the address continues. “All the limits have been exceeded – even those under the Constitution that determine my actions as the President.” Yushchenko states. (ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW) Yushchenko asserts that there are three types of influenza currently spreading throughout the country, two kinds of seasonal flu and the H1N1 strain. The President states that this “may lead to the emergence of an even more aggressive new virus”. However, WHO has said that the H1N1 virus in Ukraine appears “no different there than anywhere else” and that any surge there may be due to a more susceptible population. Other mainstream reports suggest that British scientists are examining samples of the H1N1 strain from Ukraine to determine whether the virus has mutated.
According to the write up at Chechen news outlet Kavkaz Center, the Ukrainian News Agency Fraza, has reported “it has been confirmed 100% Pneumonic Plague in Ukraine” and that in order to quell panic only talk of swine flu has been sanctioned by the authorities. However, Kavkaz is a questionable source on this matter, given that Ukraine is a tactical and military ally of Russia. Other reports have suggested that the epidemic is pure hype being played out as part of a political struggle between opposition politicians in Ukraine. Prime Minister Tymoshenko has attempted to reverse the panic by announcing that there is no swine flu pandemic in the country at all, and that it is down to “media hysteria” and “politicians’ populist statements” in the run up to January elections. As this article in The Scotsman highlights, Tymoshenko and Yushchenko, once allies in the so called “Orange Revolution”, are now bitter rivals that are set to fight it out in next year’s elections. “… there is growing suspicion in the country that the H1N1 virus has also succumbed to a bitter battle for political power that now poisons all aspects of political life and threatens to wreak serious damage on the former Soviet state.” Matthew Day writes. Around 80 people have died in Ukraine from respiratory related illnesses, it has yet to be confirmed how many were as a result of H1N1 influenza. Whatever is really going on in Ukraine, the news has sparked a flurry of reports from conspiracy based websites that are citing a warning made in August by a man called Joseph Moshe, who claimed to be a former Mossad microbiologist. Moshe hit the headlines when he was arrested after a long standoff with police in LA because he had supposedly made threats against the White House. Shortly after his arrest, hundreds of comments and reports began to circulate stating that Moshe had called into a radio show to warn people about a biological weapon that was being prepared by Baxter International’s Ukraine plant that would be spread via a flu vaccine and would cause a plague upon it’s release. Moshe’s identity as a microbiologist does seem to be verifiable, and Baxter certainly does have a presence in the Ukraine, as this page with Baxter’s contact information for it’s Ukraine office confirms. Whether Moshe’s claims have any basis in truth is up for debate, however, it now seems an incredible coincidence that he fingered Ukraine as the location for a specific outbreak. Controversial private US security firm, Blackwater is reportedly hiring ex-Pakistan security officials at mind-boggling salaries. Islamabad, Nov.6 : Controversial private US security firm, Blackwater is reportedly hiring ex-Pakistan security officials at mind-boggling salaries. According to The Nation, the US firm has offered some of the retired Pakistani officials a whopping salary package of 60,000 dollar per month. But what is more noticeable is that it has hired former CIA officer, Steven Cash to operate as Commander In Charge of its operations in Peshawar. Steven Cash is a former senior US government official and has served as an Intelligence Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, first as an Assistant General Counsel, and then with the Directorate of Operations. From 2001 to 2003 Cash also served as a Professional Staff Member and Counsel for the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has denied any presence of Blackwater personnel in Pakistan. "I reassure people that not a single American is allowed into Pakistan without stamping of visa. There are only 411 American nationals in Pakistan out of whom 286 are diplomats while others work with different NGOs," Malik told media persons during a press conference at the Parliament House. Radek Sikorski: Mr Sikorski complained there were only six American soldiers on Polish soil. Photo: PA Radek Sikorski, Poland's foreign minister, said he was alarmed by recent military exercises conducted by the Russian army in Belarus, a country that borders Poland, and wanted the US military as a counterweight. "We would like to see US troops stationed in Poland to serve as a shield against Russian aggression," he said. "If you can still afford it, we need some strategic reassurance." Despite assurances given by US Vice President Joe Biden last month that Washington would stand by its Central-European ally there is growing unease in Poland that its interests have been sacrificed by an America eager to curry favour with Moscow. Earlier this year, the US cancelled a missile defence shield that Poland was due to host, and details of its replacement remain scarce. Mr Sikorski complained there were only six American soldiers on Polish soil. "If you had on the one hand 900 tanks, and on the other six troops, would you be convinced?" he said of the recent Russian military exercise. Russian politicians said they could not believe their ears. "Cold War reflexes are still alive in Warsaw," a Russian foreign ministry spokesman said. The Russian foreign minister himself said he was astonished, while an unnamed Kremlin source told the Kommersant newspaper that Mr Sikorski needed his head examined. "It is better to ask the World Health Organisation for an assessment of Mr Sikorski's words," the official said. If Washington agreed to Mr Sikorski's request, it would spark a diplomatic crisis with Russia at a time when President Obama is wooing Moscow to win its support on a range of international issues such as Iran. Russian commentators said stationing US troops on Polish soil would also violate an undertaking Nato gave to Russia that it would not deploy major forces on the territory of Eastern bloc Nato member states. The exact nature of the Russian war games that triggered so much anxiety in Poland remains unclear. Polish media are convinced that the exercises simulated an attack on Poland. Yet Latvian politicians believe they and not the Poles were the virtual enemy, while the Russian army contends the drill was not aimed at anyone. Russia and Poland are old enemies. After spending more than four decades under Soviet domination, few in Poland trust Russia with many believing the Kremlin has a neo-Soviet agenda. Russians meanwhile harbour an old grudge against Poles. Vladimir Putin, now prime minister, introduced a national holiday – Unity Day – to commemorate the expulsion of a Polish-Lithuanian occupation force from Moscow in 1612. AP: "Anti-Muslim Backlash Immediate" but offers not even one exampleAP: "Anti-Muslim Backlash Immediate" -- but offers not even one exampleZowie! AP says that there has been "immediate" anti-Muslim "backlash" following the mass murders by an Islamic jihadist at Fort Hood! Good gravy, what happened? Did armed bands of furious Islamophobes throw molotov cocktails at mosques? Did ferocious white supremacists maul fragile little girls in hijabs on their way to school? Did angry bigots spit at pious imams quietly going about their business? Has there been any report of any innocent, random Muslim being attacked in a "backlash" after the Fort Hood jihad? Nope. Not one. Americans are decent people. Americans believe people are innocent until proven guilty. But Ibrahim Hooper and his fellow thugs at CAIR need hate crimes so that they can claim victim status for Muslims and deflect attention away from such small matters as the jihad at Fort Hood, and they have the clueless and/or complicit mainstream media in their hip pocket. And so we witness the strange phenomenon of stories of Muslims fearing a backlash far outnumbering actual incidents of backlash. In fact, the score is about umpteen to zero. And in the AP story linked above, all we get after the promise of news of "immediate" backlash are various stories about mosques and Muslims asking for special police protection, etc. So in reality, the story should be headlined, "Muslims claim victim status in wake of Fort Hood jihad attack," or "Muslim victimhood whining immediate after Fort Hood jihad massacre," or some such. But the only actual incidents of "backlash" that AP can come up with are incidents in which people like me call the Fort Hood massacre a jihad attack -- as if it is "Islamophobic" and hateful to note that a guy shouting "Allahu akbar" as he gunned people down, and who gave out Korans hours before he started shooting people, and who expressed sympathy for suicide attackers, may just have been motivated by the Islamic jihad doctrine of warfare against unbelievers. If that's "backlash," I'm Barack Obama. That's actually something known as "honest reporting." But what would AP know about that? |
