Empty detention facility could serve as Gitmo in the U.S., as reports emerge of APF thugs harassing citizens
Paul Joseph Watson Following our earlier report about a paramilitary security force occupying a town in Montana, it has now become clear that the purpose of American Police Force is to boss a state of the art internment camp that some fear will be used to incarcerate American citizens, as reports come in of the private paramilitary unit setting up roadblocks and harassing citizens in Hardin. A CNN report on the $27 million dollar facility in Hardin Montana states that it could become “Gitmo West” and be filled with detainees from Guantanamo Bay and other terrorists. Since a majority of the American people have now been designated as potential domestic terrorists by the federal government, fears are growing that the prison camp will be used to incarcerate citizens against their will during a flu pandemic or any other declared emergency. The Two Rivers Detention Center is a state of the art facility, festooned with surveillance cameras and surrounded by razor wire and open land to prevent escape. The camp is also filled with riot equipment such as gas masks, riot helmets, shields and batons, as well as guns. Since the camp is currently empty, a private paramilitary unit calling itself American Police Force has been hired by local authorities to boss the facility. However, as we reported earlier, APF, which has all the hallmarks of being another Blackwater, has virtually occupied the town, festooned their vehicles with police decals and started carrying out law enforcement duties. According to an article carried on the Steve Quayle website, 75% of the APF agents will be foreign mercenaries after training is completed and the organization’s ultimate goal is to establishment a permanent presence in the town while scouting out another 30 U.S. towns for a similar occupation-style mandate. The writer claims that APF agents are already harassing citizens, setting up roadblocks and that they told a local business owner that they had a register of all the gun owners in the town. All of this is of course completely illegal and unconstitutional. A private army cannot pose as a police force unless we’re talking about a third world dictatorship or a banana republic, which is what the U.S. has seemingly become. It seems that Obama’s promise of a “national civilian security force” is being implemented as private mercenary armies are brought in to occupy American towns and set up internment camps for dissidents and people who resist a federal government takeover under the pretext of a swine flu outbreak or similar pandemic We will have reports directly out of Hardin Montana over the next few days as we track this shocking development. Organization whose goal is to help the U.S. government “combat terrorism” patrols the streets of Hardin
Paul Joseph Watson A private security force whose biggest role is helping the U.S. government to “combat terrorism” is now patrolling the streets of a town in Montana, acting as law enforcement but accountable to nobody and operating completely outside the limitations of the U.S. constitution in a chilling throwback to the brownshirts of Nazi Germany. The American Police Force organization is a paramilitary unit that “provides surveillance, investigative, and military services across the world,” according to its website, which shows men dressed in military fatigues carrying machine guns. “As part of our mission, APF plays a critical role in helping the U.S. government meet vital homeland security and national defense needs. Within the last 5 years the United States has been far and away our #1 client. Technologies, programs, and services performed by APF have played a very important role in U.S. military and civilian efforts to protect our homeland and combat terrorism,” the website states.
APF were originally contracted to provide security at a previously empty jail in Hardin, a small town in Montana, but are now patrolling the streets driving SUV’s with “Police Department” printed on them despite the fact that Hardin doesn’t have a police department. American Police Force has no jurisdiction in the area because it is a private organization, not a police force. According to Two Rivers Authority officials, having the private security force patrol the streets was not part of the contract. “I have no idea. I really don’t because that’s not been a part of any of the discussions we’ve had with any of them,” Two Rivers Authority’s Al Peterson told KULR 8 News. Peterson said that patrolling the streets was on the “wishlist” of APF’s what Captain Michael. The American Police Force is a shady outfit shrouded in suspicion. According to an Associated Press report, questions over the legitimacy of the organization abound. “Government contract databases show no record of the company. Security industry representatives and federal officials said they had never heard of it. On its Web site, the company lists as its headquarters a building in Washington near the White House that holds “virtual offices.” A spokeswoman for the building said American Police Force never completed its application to use the address,” reports AP. Furthermore, APF was tasked with filling the empty Hardin jail with inmates, without any clear indication of where those prisoners would come from. “It’s unclear where the company will get the inmates for the jail. Montana says it’s not sending inmates to the jail, and neither are federal officials in the state,” according to the report. Maybe the inmates will be the local population of Hardin if American Police Force is allowed to continue to pose as a law enforcement outfit in the town, which is exactly what they intend to do for at least another month. Having a private security force whose stated mission is to help the U.S. government “combat terrorism” patrol the streets of small towns in America without even having the authority to do so from local authorities is obviously a frightening pretext and harks back to the private paramilitary forces that helped Adolf Hitler rise to power in Nazi Germany. Many fear that if martial law is declared in response to a flu pandemic or other emergency, private security forces such as APF will be used by the government to oppress citizens by operating outside of the law. This is completely unconstitutional and a flagrant threat to the liberty and security of the population of Hardin The County Sheriff is effectively breaking the law if he doesn’t immediately kick APF out of the area and end the occupation of the town by a private paramilitary army. Once you get home, continue using a cold pack throughout the day. If you continue to have immune reactions the following day, have cold showers and continue with the cold press. 2. Take fish oil. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), one of the omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil supplements, is a potent immune suppressant. If you take high dose EPA you will be more susceptible to infections, because it is a powerful immune suppressant. However, in the case of an immune adjuvant reaction, you want to reduce it. Studies show that if you take EPA oil one hour before injecting a very powerful adjuvant called lipopolysaccharide (LPS), it would completely block the ability of the LPS to cause brain inflammation. Take a moderate dose everyday and more if needed to tame a cytokine storm. 3. Flavonoids are third on the list, namely curcumin, quercetin, ferulic acid and ellagic acid, particularly in a mixture. The curcumin and quercetin in particular have been found to block the ability of the adjuvants to trigger a long-term immune reaction. If you take it an hour before the vaccination, it should help dampen the immune reactions says Dr Blaylock. 4. Vitamin E, the natural form that is high in gamma-E will help dampen the immune reactions and reduces several of the inflammatory cytokines. 5. An important ingredient on the list is Vitamin C at a dose of 1000 mg, taken four times a day between meals. It is a very potent anti-inflammatory and should be taken in a buffered form, not as absorbic acid, says Dr Blaylock. 6. Also use astaxanthin as it’s an anti-inflammatory. According to Dr Blaylock, fatal reactions to vaccines in aboriginal and African children occurred in those who were deficient in carotinoids, like astaxanthin. It is a good protection against the toxic effects of the vaccine. 7. Likewise, it was found that children who were deficient in zinc had a high mortality rate. Zinc is very protective against vaccine toxicity. (Do not use zinc mixed with copper however, as copper is a major trigger of free-radical generation according to Dr Blaylock). 8. Ensure you avoid all immune-stimulating supplements, such as mushroom extracts, whey protein and beta-glucan. 9. Take a multivitamin-mineral daily one that does not contain iron. This multivitamin-mineral is to make sure your body has plenty of B vitamins and selenium. Selenium, said Dr Blaylock, is very important for fighting viral infections and it reduces the inflammatory response to vaccines. 10. Magnesium citrate/malate 500 mg of elemental magnesium two capsules, three times a day. (This was not mentioned during the show, but was posted at Dr Deagle’s website, ClayandIron.com). 11. What is very important is vitamin D3, which is the only ‘vitamin’ the body can manufacture from sunlight (UVB). It is a neural hormone, not really a vitamin says Dr Blaylock and helps if you are over-reacting immunologically by cooling down the reaction. Similarly, if you are under-reacting, it helps to boost your immune response. In addition it also protects against microorganism invasion. Black people and those in colder climates are particularly deficient, so they will almost certainly require supplementation. Dr Blaylock recommends that following vaccination it will help to keep the immune reaction under control if: i) All children get 5,000 units a day for two weeks after the vaccine and then 2,000 a units a day thereafter; ii) Adults get 20,000 units a day after the vaccine for two weeks, then 10,000 units a day thereafter; iii) And with that adults should take 500-1000 mg of calcium a day and children under the age of 12 years should take 250 mg a day, as vitamin D works more efficiently in the presence of calcium. 12. Ensure you avoid all mercury-containing seafood or any other sources of mercury, as the heavy metal is a very powerful inducer of autoimmunity, is known to make people more susceptible to viral infections and will be in H1N1 vaccines. 13. Avoid the oils that significantly suppress immunity and increase inflammation – such as corn, safflower, sunflower, soybean, canola and peanut oils. 14. Drink very concentrated white tea at least four times a day. It helps to prevent abnormal immune reactions. 15. Pop parsley and celery in a blender and drink 8 ounces of this mixture twice a day. Dr Blaylock says the parsley is very high in a flavonoid called apigenin and that celery is high in luteolin. Both are very potent in inhibiting autoimmune diseases, particularly the apigenin, so go and plant some parsley in your garden now. —– So what can we learn from all of this? First of all, if you blindly trust that the swine flu vaccine or even the regular seasonal flu vaccine is perfectly safe, then you are being completely and totally reckless. The reality is that no vaccine is 100% safe. Before you ever let someone stick a needle in your arm, do some serious research and find out about these things for yourself. After you get vaccinated, you are responsible if something goes wrong. If you develop some really nasty side effects, nobody is going to pay for it. Thanks to the government, you will not be able to sue anyone for harm you receive from the swine flu vaccine. If it destroys your health you are out of luck. Secondly, if you have taken a flu vaccine, there are some things you can do. Take Dr. Blaylock’s suggestions seriously. The human body is an incredible healing machine if you give it the materials that it needs. Everyone in Austin, Texas always seems unusually charming to me. The people in Starbucks always have time for a chat. And the staff at the wildly gothic Mansion at Judges Hill (which, I am told, used to be a very fine rehab facility) can induce a smile by merely looking at you. However, it appears that when certain citizens of Austin get behind their computers, they turn into monstrous villains. This, at least, appears to be the view of Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo. According to the Austin American-Statesman, the chief is considering pursuing commenters on blogs who have either impersonated him or his officers or maligned them beyond the boundaries of legal tolerance. Options under discussion appear to be not only libel suits, but also criminal charges if the police believe these are warranted. “A lot of my people feel it is time to take these people on,” Acevedo told the Statesman. “They understand the damage to the organization, and quite frankly, when people are willfully misleading and lying, they are pretty much cowards anyway because they are doing so under the cloak of anonymity.” Among the suggestions allegedly implied under this cloak was behavior of an illegal and sexual nature, something the Statesman characterizes as “quid pro quo” arrangements. The suggestion of lawsuits seems extreme. However, after the “Skanks in NYC” case, in which Google was forced (without trying too hard to fight) to give up the name of a blogger who targeted Vogue model Liskula Cohen, are anonymous bloggers or commenters truly immune from the consequences of their venting? It so happens that Texas passed a state law on September 1 that specifically targets those who “use another person’s name to post messages on a social-networking site without their permission and with the intent to harm, defraud, intimidate or threaten.” Such willful behavior is now a third-degree felony. Where Did the H1N1 Late-2009 Flu Season Virus Come From?Where Did the H1N1 Late-2009 Flu Season Virus Come From? by Bill Sardi If your understanding is the current H1N1 late-2009 season flu pandemic began in Mexico as it spread from herds of pigs to humans there you are probably among the millions who have been misled as to the origins of this flu outbreak. Only one group of virologists that I could find has asked the right questions and has properly investigated the origins of the H1N1 swine flu virus of 2009. Yet even these virologists are off the mark when it comes to understanding the current flu pandemic. Professor Adrian Gibbs and Dr. Jean Downie, virologists writing at the Institute of Science in Society, provide much of the following data for the origins of the current late-season flu outbreak that is sweeping the globe. It is easy to get confused when reading about H1N1 flu viruses. When referring to H1N1 flu variants, these do not necessarily refer to the triple reassortant H1N1 late-2009 flu virus that is completely novel and unprecedented. The Spanish Flu of 1918 was an H1N1 flu variant, but not the exact variant currently in circulation. These flu variants need to be distinguished from each other. Furthermore, pay careful attention here because the H1N1 late-2009 season flu virus is now the prevalent flu virus in circulation in the North American population and for unexplained reasons the seasonal flu threat has ceased to exist, at least at the date of writing this report (Sept. 24, 2009). The seasonal flu has vanished this year. Here are the facts surrounding an investigation into the origins of the H1N1 swine flu of 2009 as Professor Gibbs and Dr. Downie present them, along with cited references to other important facts I uncovered in my own investigation:
If this virus had originated earlier then most likely it would have spread to the human and/or pig populations earlier, and would probably have been detected as there are hundreds of influenza monitoring stations across the globe. Laboratories house a range of flu viruses which could explain why the swine flu of 2009 escaped detection for years and reappeared. Such a laboratory escape would not require generations to produce mutations or variations and reassortants.
But these efforts may prove to be fruitless in determining the origin of this flu outbreak.
It’s obvious that public health officials are more intent upon preparing a vaccine to address an impending flu outbreak late this fall in North America than asking where this H1N1 swine-origin triple-assortment influenza virus came from and how it developed.
The $9 billion the U.S. allotted to fight a flu that has crossed continents, that did not spark a deadly flu outbreak in South America during their flu season, and which so far has resulted in fewer deaths than recent past seasonal flu outbreaks in North America, speaks for intentional misdirection or even possible conspiracy involving vaccine makers and politicians to create a flu pandemic. That the so-called swine flu was first observed in Mexico just at the same time Nicholas Sarkozy, president of France, was visiting there to announcement the establishment of a new French vaccine plant in Mexico, has to be more than coincidence. It is obvious, cash-strapped local health authorities want the money being offered by the federal government and are being bribed into stirring up flu hysteria. According to the latest survey, about 49% of Americans are ready and willing to be vaccinated for this unusual flu strain that struck North America late in the 2008–09 flu season, in an alleged pattern similar to the deadly flu pandemic of 1918. It appears governments around the world had foreknowledge of this viral pandemic. Not only did Replikins, a Boston-based biotech company, warn governments in 2008 of developing flu viruses that were of concern, but The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) began drills to administer vaccines in South Texas prior to the first cases this flu in Mexico beginning March 18, 2009. FEMA began pandemic flu preparations as early as 2007. The US Treasury Department also began coordinated flu pandemic preparations with Homeland Security also in 2007. Authorities again attempt to provoke chaos at global summits to justify brutal police crackdown
Paul Joseph Watson Shocking video has emerged of cops posing as anarchist protesters at the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, in yet another example of authorities attempting to provoke chaos at global summits in order to justify a brutal police crackdown. Footage from Saturday night shows three burly older men who look completely out of place with black bandanas over their face walking alongside young protesters during a march against police brutality in a You Tube clip entitled “G20 Epic Undercover Police Fail”. The clip would be hilarious if it was not so disturbing. Protesters walking behind what are obviously badly disguised cops claim they broke cameras and acted aggressively towards genuine protesters, as well as carrying gas canisters. During a peaceful demonstration on Saturday night, riot cops savagely attacked protesters with batons and rubber bullets while also assaulting and arresting students who weren’t even part of the demonstration. At one point one of the undercover cops states, “Let’s not make this too much fun, I’m tired, I’m getting old.” “Do you think it’s funny to mock our First Amendment rights, asks a demonstrator as onlookers begin to become aware that the men are obviously police officers dressed up as anarchists. At every single major summit over the past few years, authorities have inserted agent provocateurs into protest groups in order to spy on them and if necessary, provoke violence to justify oppressive police brutality in the eyes of the watching world. We have documented numerous different occasions where the leadership of the black bloc anarchists were actually working with the authorities to provide a pretext for a police state crackdown. During the previous G20 protest in London, black bloc anarchists were allowed by police to smash up bank buildings while being accompanied by more press photographers than other protesters in what was obviously a stage-managed spectacle for mass consumption, while legitimate protest groups were refused “permits” to protest by the government. Following the SPP protests in Canada two years ago, Quebec provincial authorities were forced to admit that three rock-wielding black mask-wearing “anarchists” were in fact police infiltrators used to gather information on protesters. Video shows two of the provocateurs pick up rocks and try to incite violence before they are outed as cops by legitimate demonstrators. The two thugs then tried to slip behind police lines before their fellow officers were forced to stage their arrest. Again, the fact that they were cops in disguise was later admitted by authorities. Alex Jones’ film Police State 2: The Takeover exposed how the black bloc anarchists were completely infiltrated and provocateured by the authorities during the violent 1999 WTO protests in Seattle. The authorities declared a state of emergency, imposed curfews and resorted to nothing short of police state tactics in response to a small minority of hostile black bloc hooligans. Police allowed the black bloc to run riot in downtown Seattle while they concentrated on preventing the movement of peaceful protestors. At the WTO protests in Genoa 2001 a protestor was killed after being shot in the head and run over twice by a police vehicle. The Italian Carabinere also later beat on peaceful protestors as they slept, and even tortured some, at the Diaz School. It later emerged that the police fabricated evidence against the protesters, claiming they were anarchist rioters, to justify their actions. Some Carabiniere officials have since come forward to say they knew of infiltration of the so called black bloc anarchists, and that fellow officers acted as agent provocateurs. At the Free Trade Area of Americas protests in Miami in late November 2003, more provocateuring was evident. The United Steelworkers of America calling for a congressional investigation, stated that the police intentionally caused violence and arrested and charged hundreds of peaceful protestors. The USWA suggested that billions of dollars supposedly slated for Iraq reconstruction funds are actually being used to subsidize “homeland repression” in America. Despite being caught over and over again dressed up as anarchists and posing as protesters, authorities are still content to use agent provocateurs in a desperate and underhanded attempt to make heightening levels of police brutality somehow appear as a legitimate response. Since this maneuver has now been totally discredited and everyone is fully aware of it, it’s unlikely that they will be able to get away with it at all for future protests. Just for the record, my reference to the Million Man March and Obama’s Inauguration was due to the fact that those two gatherings were PREVIOUSLY the LARGEST gatherings as compared to the historic 9/12 March on Washington DC. So for anyone suggesting that I am a racist, let me advise that I am not. I do not care from what race Front Sight’s students, members, or instructors may be. As long as you are a responsible, law-abiding individual with no history of mental illness or substance abuse, Front Sight stands ready, willing, and able to provide you with a level of training that far exceeds military and law enforcement standards. The media has the numbers of the gathering ranging all over the board. I simply reported what was reported to me BY NUMEROUS, UNRELATED PEOPLE IN THE MARCH who were told by the National Park Police that it was the biggest gathering they had ever seen with the size of the group estimated at over 2 million people. When you consider the numbers of people participating in 9/12 Rallies in cities and towns across the country the overall numbers were even greater. Either way, IT WAS A BIG MARCH! Fearful that they're losing ground on immigration and health care, a group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal immigrants some access. The Democrats, trying to stiffen their party's spines on the contentious issue, say it's unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange. Legal immigrants, they say, regardless of how long they've been in the United States, should be able to get government-subsidized health care if they meet the other eligibility requirements. "Legal permanent residents should be able to purchase their plans, and they should also be eligible for subsidies if they need it. Undocumented, if they can afford it, should be able to buy their own private plans. It keeps them out of the emergency room," said Rep. Michael M. Honda, California Democrat and chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. Mr. Honda was joined by more than 20 of his colleagues in two letters laying out the demands. TWT RELATED STORIES: Coverage for immigrants is one of the thorniest issues in the health care debate, and one many Democratic leaders would like to avoid. But immigrant rights groups and the Democrats who sent the letters say they have to take a stand now. President Obama has said he does not want health care proposals to cover illegal immigrants. The bill drawn up by Sen. Max Baucus, Montana Democrat and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, excludes illegal immigrants from his proposed health care exchange. Mr. Honda and his allies, though, say illegal immigrants should be allowed to pay for insurance if they can afford it, even if it comes through a government-established exchange. As a generally young, healthy part of the population, illegal immigrants could help reduce overall costs for those who buy into health exchange plans, the lawmakers said. The Democrats' letters, however, do not issue ultimatums or threaten to withhold support for the bills if their requests aren't met. The National Council of La Raza launched its own "flood their voice mail" campaign last week to put pressure on Mr. Baucus to expand coverage in his proposal to include all legal immigrants and to drop verification language in the legislation that would prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining coverage. Mr. Honda told The Washington Times that he's not pushing for illegal immigrants to gain access to taxpayer-subsidized benefits. "That's an argument that's been done already," he said. Rep. Steve King, Iowa Republican, said proposals that include government coverage for illegal immigrants leave him incredulous. "If anybody can, with a straight face, advocate that we should provide health insurance for people who broke into our country, broke our law and for the most part are criminals, I don't know where they ever would draw the line," he said. Mr. King, who opposes Democrats' health care plans in general, said illegal immigrant access in legislation "would be a poison pill that would cause health care to go down" to defeat. Twenty-nine Democrats signed on to the letter on legal immigrants, while 21 signed the letter on covering illegal immigrants. Although the leadership of the Congressional Black Caucus signed the legal-immigrant letter in their capacity as CBC officials, they signed the other letter as individual members of Congress. Under the 1996 welfare law overhaul, Congress restricted most federal benefits to longtime holders of green cards - those who have been in the country at least five years. But Democrats chipped away at that rule when they reauthorized the State Children's Health Insurance Program earlier this year and allowed states to cover all immigrant children and pregnant women, regardless of how long they've been in the country. In their letter, the Democrats said health care costs are much lower for legal immigrants than for native citizens. "Immigrants are part of our families, our communities, our economy, and contribute to the fabric of America," they wrote. "It is simply wrong that their taxes would pay for public health insurance programs to which they are not allowed access." Jason Bermas In what was possibly the most surreal, horrific, and unimaginable thing I have ever witnessed in my life, 1200 Riot Police and Military Personal rabidly attacked a group of well under 300 American citizens, many of them just students that were unaware there was even a protest going on. They then expanded their perimeter and shut large areas of Oakland down. This is how my last experience at the G20 in Pittsburgh went down, out of control authorities mercilessly attacking an unarmed crowd with batons, tear gas, pepper spray, sound weapons, and rubber bullets. Around 10pm on Friday night, long after the vast majority of dignitaries and protesters had left, it became evident that the outrageous show of force by the Military and Police was not enough to stave off their thirst for blood. When I first arrived on the scene Luke Rudowski of We Are Change and a small group of protesters were peaceably assembling among a much larger number of college students just out for another weekend of fun in Schenley Plaza. Around ten minutes later Rob Dew arrived and we began filming the entire scene, it was evident that the number of police already in the area and the amount who were massing and surrounding the perimeter was extremely alarming. As Luke bull horned that the people in this park meant the police no physical harm, and that they were simply exercising their right to free speech, a couple of masked individuals began to scream “He doesn’t speak for us”. These few provocateurs and well meaning idiots could have been easily dealt with by a handful of regular police officers dressed in their standard uniform, however that solution does not offer the pretext for over a thousand heavily armed psychotics to encircle and engage the American people. I began to become extremely frightened as to what the outcome of the situation was going to be as I began to witness LRAD weapons showing up, dogs beginning to circle the perimeter, and then everyone putting on their gas masks. During all of this I was threatened with arrest three times and physically charged and chased by one of the officers. At that point I realized they were about to attack, and they did. Hundreds of armed to the teeth trained professionals began their march towards innocent young men and women, and then took it much further by launching tear gas canisters, battening people trying to leave, and firing rubber bullets randomly into the crowd. Luckily I was able to slip through the cracks of a blockade of only 6 or so riot thugs as they tried to amass more in that area and form another brutal line. (ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
I personally witnessed a young man on a bike being beaten for no reason whatsoever and as he fled the officers then beat his bike. When the young man tried to retrieve his bike his knuckle was broken. Another man was gassed so badly he had to be taken to the hospital. This is how “Peace Officers” treat us? During the very quick first burst of the madness I lost touch with Infowars Producer and Cameraman Rob Dew, I immediately thought he had been arrested, and I was correct. He was illegally detained and digitally fingerprinted in a separate process for “protesters”. Rob was cuffed all evening in a room full of other detainees, and was not released until 10:20 am the next morning with no charges being brought against him. Military and Police mocked them as Americans were being detained and processed often laughing at college students that had been beaten for no other reason for being in the wrong place around their campus that evening. Luke Rudowski received multiple battens to his back and legs as the jackals descended on him with force, even though he had made it clear to all of them he wished them no violence. For his peaceful efforts Luke and Lee from We Are Change were separated from the rest of the more than one hundred detainees and sent to State Prison. Luke was strip searched, mocked, and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Assembly, and will have to go back to Pittsburgh Wednesday to face charges. The Military and Police laughed as they took note of the “Superstar” that had been all over the news on channel 11 and even National NBC, taking a sick pleasure in the torture of another human being. Whether from public pressure or normal operational adjustments, the Department of Homeland Security has changed its plans to move agents from the southern to the northern border and to halt the miles of fence constructed in 2010. Following an article here on September 9 entitled: DHS plans no new border fence in 2010. Agents to be redeployed to northern border, DHS came out with two separate news releases stating that the plans, first listed in the agency’s 2008-2010 annual report, have been adjusted. In that document the agency reported that there would be no increase in the 815 miles of border under “effective operational control” in FY 2009. That number has since been adjusted and DHS plans to have 894 miles protected, an increase of 79 miles, in FY 2010. In total the department is responsible for some 8,607 miles of border and border coastline meaning that 10.3% of the nations borders will be protected. An astonishingly low number. That same report also indicated that several hundred agents, later listed at 394 by Border Patrol Director of Media Relations Lloyd Easterling, would be transferred from the southern border to the northern frontier with Canada. But Matt Chandler, acting deputy press secretary for DHS said that number is wrong and does not reflect the latest information. The number of agents on the Southwest border — 17,415 currently — will not decrease even as the agency continues to add agents to the northern border, Chandler said. In contrast there are 1,881 agents on the northern border, a number, which they hope will increase to 2,212 next year. The Canadian line is the largest unprotected border in the world. Discrepancies aside, that is good news on both accounts as the 1,969 miles along Mexico is the most frequently crossed international border on the planet with 250 million people (legally) exchanging sides each year. About 750,000 illegal border crossers are arrested annually attempting to enter the US along the southern border though the northern frontier is becoming a location of choice. More and more affluent Mexican illegal border crossers are flying to Canada and simply walking across the unprotected divide. It costs less than hiring a “coyote”, reportedly at about $3500 today, and the risks are markedly less. Until the entire 8,000 plus miles are under “effective operational control” we as a nation and a people are in danger. Unfortunately "political will" plays a big role in our safety and politicians are largely unwilling to do what’s necessary to secure our country. They cry poverty yet somehow can find $2 BB to fund a George Soros oil drilling expedition in Brazil. Dear Friend of Freedom: As Congress begins to consider renewing sections of the USA PATRIOT Act that are set to expire at the end of the year, we have a unique opportunity to press for new civil liberties protections to shield ordinary Americans against government spying. Last week, ten US Senators introduced the perfect vehicle for reform of the surveillance powers in the PATRIOT Act, as well as the much broader and more dangerous FISA Amendments Act (FAA), the warrantless surveillance law that was passed by Congress last summer. The new bill, called the JUSTICE Act, would add essential new checks and balances to a broad range of surveillance powers. In particular, it would reform the notorious National Security Letter power that allows the FBI, without court supervision, to secretly demand that companies hand over your private phone and Internet records. Even more important, the JUSTICE Act would add strong new privacy protections to the FAA, which vastly expanded the government's authority to sweep up Americans' phone calls and emails without probable cause or meaningful court review. The JUSTICE Act would also repeal the immunity for telecommunications companies that illegally assisted in the NSA's warrantless wiretapping program. This would restore the rule of law and allow EFF's suit against AT&T to continue so that the courts can do their job and rule on the legality of the surveillance. This is our first real shot at meaningful surveillance reform in a long time, but things are moving very quickly. The Senate Judiciary Committee is planning to consider PATRIOT renewal this week. Twitter isn't the only place on the Web consumers might find such shortened Web addresses but it is the most popular one. The problem is that you don't know where it will take you in most cases until you click on the link, something Symantec said malware authors have caught on to. "Using enticing tweets and commonly used twitter search terms, their goal is to get other users to click on their links, leading to malicious code," the Cupertino company said. It offered examples with a YouTube video, which can be seen by clicking here. The company said that in addition to its own security software, some browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer allow users to check the full URL of a link before clicking on it. "While this won’t tell you for sure if the link is malicious, it will at least allow you to look more carefully before clicking," the company said in its post. CPSC.gov The Easy-Bake Oven, made for ages 8 & up, was recalled because if kids put their fingers in the slot they could get stuck or burn themselves. Americans who slap $1 pricetags on their used possessions at garage sales or bazaar events risk being slapped with fines of up to $15 million, thanks to a new government campaign. The "Resale Round-up," launched by the Consumer Product Safety Commission The strict standards were set in the 2008 Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act The standards were originally interpreted to apply only to new products, but now the CPSC says they apply to used items as well. "Those who resell recalled children's products are not only breaking the law, they are putting children's lives at risk,” said CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum. "Resale stores should make safety their business and check for recalled products and hazards to children." In order to comply, stores, flea markets, charities and individuals selling used goods — in person or online — are expected to consult the commission's 24-page Handbook for Resale Stores and Product Resellers (pdf) and its Web site for a breakdown of what they can't sell. Violators caught selling anything on the enormous list face fines of up to $100,000 per infraction and up to $15 million for a related series of infractions. CPSC spokesman Scott Wolfson says the fines are intended for large companies with serious infractions. "CPSC is an agency that has used its penalty powers over its 30-year history against companies," Wolfson told FOXNews.com. "CPSC is not seeking to pursue penalties against individuals hosting a garage sale or yard sale, we are encouraging them to take the right steps to not resell recalled products." But FOX News Legal Analyst Bob Massi says the law makes no distinction for families and small resellers. "Most people having garage sales at this point don't have much anyway, so to have a fine levied against them is tantamount to harassment," Massi told FOXNews.com. "And if you or I asked 100 people about this, they would never even know the law exists." Don Mays, senior director of product safety planning at the publisher of Consumer Reports, says the hefty penalties are necessary to have an impact. "The former civil penalty limit of $1.87 million was too small to be an effective deterrent to large companies who flagrantly violated the law," Mays told FOXNews.com. "Mattel and its subsidiary Fisher-Price, for example, recently paid a $2.3 million penalty for importing about 2 million toys that violated the CPSC 30-year-old lead paint ban — that amounts to just over one dollar per toy." When FOXNews.com came to his garage sale, vendor Ilan Broochian said the same was not the case for his household. "You fine me in today's economy $1000 dollars and that would hurt me," Broochian said. "So, just make the fine bigger to them; don't take their responsibility and put it on me." "I think I speak for many people when I say that the government spends too much time interfering in the individual citizen's personal life and this is almost bordering on the ridiculous ... what if it opens up a Pandora's box of litigation brought by the purchasers of items at garage sales?" Wolfson says the law may be tough, but it's necessary to keep consumers — and especially children — safe. "Many children have choked and died on small parts that have broken off or been incorporated into toys," Wolfson told FOXNews.com. He noted that dozens of children have swallowed powerful magnets that fell out of magnetic toys and have needed open-chest surgery as result. "We don’t make haphazard decisions about risks here at CPSC," he said. "So much of what we do here and what this new law aims to achieve is looking at issues where children have been hurt previously." But critics say the Resale Round-up is just another example of the government overstepping its boundaries. "It's absurd when nanny-state bureaucrats want to regulate things we buy at mom-and-pop shops or second-hand stores," Wes Benedict, executive director of the Libertarian National Committee, told FOXNews.com. "Consumer product safety is best left to a free market where suppliers can compete based on reputation and track records. American grown-ups aren't stupid, and they know they need to be careful about what they buy for their children from complete strangers at no-name stores." Toy industry expert and TimetoPlayMag.com "The overall law I think is awfully broad and doesn't take all of the science into effect," he told FOXNews.com. "You can't consume lead by touching something and putting your finger in your mouth. That's not how it happens. The lead has to be injested and has to be injested in particles small enough to enter the bloodstream or on a material in the stomach where it will be digested in the stomach acids and go into the bloodstream — and that's never happened from toys." In cases where toys have injured children, Byrne said the injuries often resulted from misusing the product. "In virtually all the cases of magnet swallowing these were things that were swallowed by kids that were below the age grade, or in the case of the older kids they were pretending to have tongue piercings. By banning magnets, you're not going to stop that level of play," Byrne said. "When you bring something into your home there should be an assumption of risk," he added. "And if you have a child under 3 and you bring in something age graded for 5 and up – who's responsibility is that? I think it's the parents'." And toys aren't the only issue. Byrne said the biggest challenge now is for all school products. "If I've got a wirebound notebook, the lead content in that wire binding is now under scrutiny, even though the chance of ingesting lead in any amount from something like that is virtually non-existent," he said. "It's a level of political grandstanding to say 'we're taking care of everything,' but the science clearly demonstrates that the transference is not really possible — I mean, a child who eats the wire binding from a notebook is going to have significantly worse health problems than lead." The problem, he said, is every not-for-profit and 'mom and pop thrift shop' has different capabilities and resources and a broad-brush approach may leave them unable to provide services. Still, Gibson said, Goodwill generally has been able to continue serving its communities, and he believes CPSC is working hard to take a law "that was probably written in haste" and implement it in an effective manner. "They're really committed to common-sense approaches and working in good faith with at least the social services kind of thrift segment," he said. "And we've been working very proactively with them to make sure that folks at Goodwill are educated, have access to the CPSC guidelines and are making themselves available for as much training as CPSC can provide as they try to figure out how to work with this legislation." By Jim Lobe WASHINGTON - While Israeli officials claimed a major win in United States President Barack Obama's decision to shelve his long-held demand for a freeze on Israeli settlements on the West Bank and East Jerusalem, some analysts here believe it may yet prove a Pyrrhic victory for the hardline government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The decision, announced at the trilateral meeting between Obama, Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas in New York City on Tuesday, puts an apparent end to a seven-month effort by the US administration - strongly resisted by Netanyahu - to gain Israel's agreement to freeze settlement activity as the first step toward a renewed peace process. But the frustration and impatience expressed by Obama before the meeting, as well as his apparent determination to launch permanent-status talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians in the very near future, suggest that the White House has decided to focus its efforts and engage directly on the terms of a final peace agreement. "It is past time to talk about starting negotiations; it is time to start moving forward," Obama declared on Tuesday. "Permanent status negotiations must begin - and begin soon," he said, adding that he had asked Netanyahu and Abbas to send delegations to Washington next week to meet with his special Mideast envoy, former Senator George Mitchell, to begin laying out the terms of reference on which they were prepared to negotiate. He also said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would report back on the status of the talks by mid-October. On Wednesday, Obama sounded both more specific and more determined. "The time has come to re-launch negotiations - without preconditions - that address the permanent-status issues: security for Israelis and Palestinians; borders, refugees, and Jerusalem," he told the UN General Assembly, noting that Washington still "does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements". "The goal is clear: two states living side by side in peace and security - a Jewish State of Israel, with true security for all Israelis; and a viable, independent Palestinian state with contiguous territory that ends the occupation that began in 1967, and realizes the potential of the Palestinian people," he said, pledging, "I will not waver in my pursuit of peace." The impasse on the settlements issue and its de-linking from permanent-status talks was taken by most analysts here as a clear victory for Netanyahu and a major defeat both for the Palestinians, who have insisted on a freeze as a precondition for entering into final-status talks since Obama first demanded an end to settlement construction last spring, as well as a setback for the US administration itself. "Netanyahu 1, and Abbas, Obama and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, zero," Aaron David Miller, a former US peace negotiator now at the Woodrow Wilson International Center here, told McClatchy Newspapers Tuesday in a concise summary of his analysis of Tuesday's meeting. "You have the Israelis crowing and the Palestinians looking humiliated in the face of hardliners," said James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute (AAI). "That's not a good place to be. We're now in a somewhat more difficult situation than we were before these discussions began," he added. Indeed, while the Israeli prime minister on Tuesday insisted that he was ready to take part in such talks, some analysts here noted that Netanyahu has felt more comfortable dealing with so-called "interim" issues, such as settlements and other confidence-building measures (CBMs), in part because he could count on the support of his right-wing coalition and even the broader Israeli public which, according to recent polls, has become increasingly hostile toward Obama. "Netanyahu's preferred approach was to focus on interim issues and CBMs and to avoid negotiating the core issues on which his positions are the most unreasonable," said Daniel Levy, a former Israeli peace negotiations currently based at the New America Foundation. By delinking settlements - even while continuing to denounce their construction as illegitimate - Obama, in a kind of diplomatic jujitsu, will now force Netanyahu to deal with final-status issues that, among other things, will challenge his ability to maintain his coalition. "What we have been witnessing thus far ... has been a table-setting exercise," Levy wrote on Foreignpolicy.com. He argued that the impasse reached after months of effort in gaining a settlement freeze may be part of a "more sophisticated strategy" that will ultimately lead to the "presentation and active promotion, at the appropriate moment, of an American plan for implementing a comprehensive peace" in light of the long-standing inability of the two sides to reach one themselves. Other analysts disagreed with that analysis, insisting that the administration, even as it has raised the stakes on the urgency of reaching a final peace accord, has not yet made clear how hard it is willing to push Netanyahu, in particular, toward serious negotiations. "It is quite clear from round one that Obama underestimated the tenacity of Netanyahu, and the administration did not seem to have thought through what they would do if they didn't get the cooperation they wanted [on settlements]," said Stephen Walt, an international relations professor at Harvard University and co-author of the "Israel Lobby". "If you can't get Bibi [Netanyahu] to agree to a temporary freeze, how does one possibly imagine getting him to agree to 1) borders that would establish a viable Palestinian state; 2) a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem; 3) some formula for the Temple Mount; 4) an agreement on refugees; and 5) the withdrawal of the settlers outside the wall?" he added. For his part, Zogby believes the administration should have simply demanded a settlement freeze instead of negotiating the precise terms over its scope and duration - as Mitchell tried to do over the last several months - and gone directly to final-status talks from the outset. But he did not exclude the possibility of a larger strategy at work, noting Mitchell's proven skills as a negotiator in Northern Ireland. "The delinking of settlements from final status could be a change in tack, or it could be simply salvaging a really bad situation," Zogby said. "I do know that Netanyahu is a master-maneuverer who uses every situation to his advantage, but I'm confident that Mitchell is quite attuned to that," he added. In a case that resembles an episode of the hit televison drama NCIS, a grand jury handed down an indictment on Thursday in a North Carolina federal court charging three suspects with plotting to attack the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia., with the intent to murder U.S. military personnel.
The suspects also are named with four other men -- including another Boyd son, Dylan, 22 -- in a sealed indictment for alleged involvement in a conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, as well as conspiracy to murder, kidnap, maim and injure persons abroad, according to Gilmore. 
The defendants were arrested July 27 at various locations. All are being held without bond.
